Travel advice for disabled people

Are you wondering about what medical equipment you can take with you, or how close to giving birth you can travel by air? Or the requirements if you plan to travel with a companion? This section includes information for people who are ill, or need to use medical equipment or medicines on board.

Am I fit to fly?
The airlines require you to be fit enough to complete the flight. If you are in doubt, you should obtain a doctor’s certificate, but it is the airline that ultimately decides whether you are fit enough to fly
Travelling with a companion
If you need assistance to evacuate the aircraft in an emergency, the airline may require you to have a companion on board.
Medical equipment

Mobility equipment
If you use electrical mobility equipment such as an electric wheelchair, you should inform the airline about the equipment in advance
Medicines and baby food
You can take both medicines and baby food on the flight. Familiarise yourself with the guidelines here
